The Digital Experiments Lab team, representing the University of Information Technology and Management in Rzeszow, actively participated in the international Mediatization Conference 7, held on March 19–20, 2026 in Lublin. The event brought together researchers and practitioners to explore the evolving relationship between mediatization processes and artificial intelligence, framed within the concept of “AI-zation.”
Organized by the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University and the Polish Communication Association, the conference addressed key challenges shaping contemporary communication ecosystems, including human–machine interaction, generative AI in content production, and media credibility in an era of algorithmic influence.
Representatives of the Digital Experiments Lab presented a range of interdisciplinary research projects focused on AI-driven communication. The contributions covered topics such as:
- generative AI in media production and visual communication,
- algorithmic persuasion and its impact on audiences, authorship and misinformation in AI-generated content,
- AI-generated advertising and digital consumer behavior,
- ethical and social implications of AI in communication processes.
The conference also included workshops dedicated to Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods in digital discourse analysis, highlighting the growing importance of computational approaches in communication research.
Participation in Mediatization Conference 7 contributes to the development of the SPARK project’s research agenda, particularly in the areas of AI-mediated communication, digital culture, and critical analysis of emerging technologies.
Through engagement in international academic exchange, the Digital Experiments Lab continues to develop interdisciplinary approaches to understanding the role of artificial intelligence in contemporary media environments.
